Water & Water Conservation

  • Water Task Force
    The mission of the Water Task Force is to promote and support the role of science and technology in addressing critical water issues facing New Mexico through research, education, and Extension outreach. The Water Task Force is an ACES led effort which coordinates University wide teams with expertise in social, economic and environmental issues related to water quality and quantity in New Mexico and the region.
  • Rio Grande Basic Initiative
    This project focuses on irrigation water use efficiency and water conservation throughout the Rio Grande basin. Congressionally directed, and in partnership with Texas A&M University, scientists and Extension professionals are conducting research and educational outreach programs aimed at improving irrigation water management and expanding our knowledge of river hydrology and aquatic ecology.
  • New Mexico Farm*A*Syst
    New Mexico Farm*A*Syst - Farmstead Assessment System, is a voluntary groundwater protection program for New Mexico farms, ranches, and rural homeowners.

Environment, Energy & Weather

  • New Mexico Climate Center
    The New Mexico Climate Center is located on the campus of New Mexico State University, under the College of Agriculture and Home Economics. The office is responsible for the collection and storage of climate related data.
